Christian Bale is clearly a rageoholic. Back in July 2008 he was arrested for allegedly assaulting his mother and sister. Now he unleashes his savage fury on a poor cinematographer who accidentally interrupted a scene he was filming. I think by now everyone in the world has heard the tapes. He is shouting profanities at the poor guy and seemingly just can’t stop even after others tried to calm him down. His fans will say that he’s a “method actor” and that he just takes his craft seriously. The point is that he’s only an actor. He wasn’t in the operating room performing open heart surgery; he is not a research scientist seeking a cure for cancer. He is just an entertainer. It doesn’t take brains or anything special. Anyone can learn to act. Some might be more natural and better than others but it doesn’t take a genius. So who the heck does he think he is? Well, unfortunately, he’s just one of many celebrities who carry on and act like jerks. Russell Crowe, anyone? These guys need a serious reality check.
One thing Mr. High and Mighty Bale should know. The main reason that The Dark Knight was such a huge hit was because of Heath Ledger. The movie itself had a convoluted plot and was too long. Not to mention Bale’s boring and humorless portrayal of Bruce Wayne. And what is with the growling? He thinks he’s Clint Eastwood now? I honestly can’t see the next film doing as well unless they cast someone like Robert Downey Jr. (this will never happen, of course, because of Iron Man) or Johnny Depp to jazz it up. Anyway, next production for Bale is a smaller film called Killing Pablo. I’m sure he will be his same dull nasty self in that film too. But as long as he doesn’t make his co-workers miserable and keeps his childish tantrums in check, that is the important thing.
